Gaura Purnima

The auspicious appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

The Golden Avatar

Lord Chaitanya is Krishna Himself in the mood of Srimati Radharani, appearing as a devotee to teach the science of pure love (Prema). He appeared in Navadvipa, West Bengal, on a full moon day, and His advent signaled the beginning of a spiritual revolution.

Congregational Chanting

The primary mission of Lord Chaitanya was to spread the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra as the easiest and most effective way to attain spiritual perfection in this age. On Gaura Purnima, we celebrate His mercy by chanting together, performing Abhishek, and distributing sanctified food (Prasadam).
