Sri Krishna Janmashtami

The supreme appearance day of Lord Sri Krishna.

Spiritual Significance

Lord Krishna’s birth is not a material event but a divine appearance (Janma Karma Cha Me Divyam). He is the source of all incarnations and the personification of bliss. His advent brings the light of knowledge and the path of devotion to the world.

Celebration at the Temple

At ISKCON Asansol, Janmashtami is a day of deep meditation, fasting, and joyous kirtan. Devotees gather for a grand Abhishek ceremony, followed by a midnight Arati that marks the exact moment of the Lord's appearance. The temple is decorated with thousands of flowers, and the atmosphere is filled with the chanting of the Holy Names.
